Vickie Jefferson Hogg, age 67, was born on February 16, 1958, in Jacksonville, Texas, and passed away on December 17, 2025, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Vickie lived a life marked by love, strength, authenticity, and unwavering devotion to her family
Vickie had a love like no other for her family. No matter where she saw you—whether in passing or after time apart—she made sure to speak, wrap you in a hug, and tell you just how much she loved you. She had a gift for bringing people together and loved cooking and sharing meals filled with laughter, conversation, and comfort. Her home was a place where others always felt welcomed and at ease. Known for “keeping it real,” she spoke from the heart with honesty, humor, and wisdom. Above all else, her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she poured her love into them every chance she had.
She leaves behind a beautiful and lasting legacy through those she loved so deeply. Vickie is survived by her devoted spouse, Olan Hogg; her children, Shameka (Elgin) Robinson and Billy Cook, Jr. (Latasha); and her cherished grandchildren,Kiaira Shepard, Nylon Hart, Kamesha Cook, Cordedrick Johnson, Mykya Cook, and Jetney Cook, who truly held her heart.
She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Donnell Cox, Welton Jefferson, Carlon Stafford, Rickie Jefferson, Kathy Gipson, and Marcel Jefferson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, sincerity, and genuine spirit. A special acknowledgement is extended to her bonus sister, Dorothy Cox, whose presence, love, and support meant more than words can express.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Louise Jefferson and Guy Jefferson, and her beloved sister, Mary Black.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Vickie’s memory will live on through the love she shared, the meals she prepared, the laughter she sparked, and the unbreakable bonds she formed withher family and all who knew her.
