Missionary Marion Johnson, age 74, departed this life on May 6, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1951, to the late Lenda Ervin Johnson and John L. Johnson.
Missionary Johnson was a woman of strong faith who attended First Pentecostal Church Of God In Christ and faithfully served in many capacities throughout her years of ministry. She served as a missionary and evangelist in the Church of God in Christ and was honored as the Mother of the Church. She also faithfully served on the Board of Directors and as Bible Study President, dedicating her life to spreading the Word of God and encouraging others in their walk of faith.
She was employed by Southwestern Bell in Tyler, where she worked as a telephone operator until her retirement. Missionary Johnson also earned her CNA license and found great joy in caring for the elderly, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing spirit.
Missionary Johnson enjoyed singing, traveling, and spending time with those she loved most. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured every moment spent caring for and supporting them. Her kindness, wisdom, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Ethel Mae Johnson and Gerald Johnson; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved siblings, James W. Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Gearldine Johnson, and Edward Jay Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenda Ervin Johnson and John L. Johnson, and her brother, Johnny L. Johnson.
Missionary Marion Johnson’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
