Mark Allen Carter, age 68, of Laneville, Texas, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Mark was born on July 30, 1957, in Laneville, Texas, to the late Juanita Carter and Joe Maddox.
Mark was a proud graduate of Laneville High School, Class of 1975. After graduation, he began a long and fulfilling career as a crane operator with Rusk County, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependable spirit, and dedication to doing the job right. His hands helped shape roads and communities, and his love for the outdoors could be seen in his appreciation for horses, trucks, and the open road.
Mark will be remembered for his calm nature, humor, and his favorite saying, βAnd going on.β He loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and good times that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Carter and Joe Maddox, and his grandson, Michael Lamb.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marylin Carter; his children, LaTonya Carter-Beasley (Douglas), Brian Carter (Kadedria), and Quanita Carter; his siblings, Katherine Carter (Kathy) and Stanley Paul Carter; and his grandchildren, Tyrell Glenn, LaTarence Carter, Michael Lamb, LaMarcus Lamb, Rhianna Carter, and Kingsley Carter.
He also leaves behind his nephews, Kennith Carter, Donnell Carter, and Zay Carter, and his niece, Christina Carter, along with several other relatives and close family members who loved him dearly.
Mark also leaves behind several close friends who were like family to him β Jerry Anderson, Adell Hogg, Skip, and Bert β all of whom shared in his love for life, laughter, and simple joys.
His legacy of hard work, kindness, and loyalty will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him best.
