Johnny Wayne Jasper, 80, of Troup, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025.

Born on March 30, 1945, to the late Travis Jasper and Velma Freeny Jasper in Troup, TX.  Johnny lived a life full of purpose, service, and love. After completing school in Troup, Johnny enlisted in US Army on May 17, 1966 and served his country until May 16, 1968. Johnny was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and devoted his years not only to his country but to the things that brought him joy — casting his fishing line out on quiet waters, building and customizing firearms with care and precision, and most of all, spending cherished time with his family. Johnny was the proud father of three children, 2 sons, Johnny Mark and Andrew Jasper and daughter, Danielle Jasper Swindell. 

Johnny’s legacy is one of strength, kindness, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He will be remembered fondly for his stories, his craftsmanship, and the steady presence he offered to all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Johnny Wayne Jasper is preceded in death by both parents - Travis and Velma Freeny Jasper, son Johnny Mark Jasper and one great grandson Jalvin Tryie Carr.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, daughter Danielle Swindell (Kevin) , son Andrew Jasper (Davin), one brother Travis Jasper Jr. (Ruby), one sister Nellie Johnson, 8 grandchildren  6 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and family friends.
