Mr. Johnnie Wayne Robertson was born to the union of the late John Ben Session and Jereline Brooks Price on September 15, 1956, in Jacksonville, Texas. On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, he entered into "Eternal Rest". He is a graduate of the Jacksonville High School Class of 1975. After graduation, he attended Jacksonville Baptist College in Jacksonville, Texas, and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he played football.
John Wayne worked for Nichols and later retired from Western Pulp.
He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, where he was baptized in the pond behind the church.
In his spare time, John enjoyed restoring and racing cars, mowing yards, lifting weights, piddling in his man cave, and spending time with family and friends.
John Wayne was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Whitaker on July 20, 1984, and they recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. To this union, three children were born: LuShunda, Marsha, and Jonathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jereline; one daughter, LuShunda Sanders; one niece, LaTresha Rivers; four brothers and three sisters.
To forever cherish his memory he leaves his wife; Brenda Robertson, one daughter; Marsha Robertson of Jacksonville, Texas, one son; Jonathan Robertson of Jacksonville, Texas, three grandchildren; MoQuesha, Marquicia and Christopher, three great-grandchildren; Joshua, Mariyah and Jaston, two brothers; James (Iristene) Robertson of Garland, Texas, Albert (Simone) Wynne of Dallas, Texas, three sisters; Mary Session and Debra Session, both of Dallas, Texas, Angela Berkley of Ft. Worth, Texas, a host of step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
