Harvey Lee Hinton, a beloved provider, protector, and dedicated hard worker, passed away on May 24, 2026 in Jacksonville, TX.
Harvey was born on November 11, 1950 in the Larissa community, to Hillary and Gladys Hinton.
A proud alumnus, Harvey graduated from Fred Douglass High School in 1969.
On April 16, 1973, Harvey married Brenda Berry Hinton. Together, they raised two children: son, Stacy Hinton, daughter, Tracy Hinton-Horn. He built a long and successful career as a truck driver for 40 years, dedicating 26 years to Jacksonville Ready Mix and 14 years to CCMRA.
Harvey was a man of faith and community, having joined Larissa CME Church at the age of 11 in 1966, where he later served as a deacon for several years. His personal life was filled with a love for the outdoors; he enjoyed farming, tending to his cattle, and hunting. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
To his family and grandchildren, Harvey was a constant source of encouragement and a steady hand they could always count on. He was known for his willingness to help anyone in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Son, Stacy (Ramanda) Hinton, Grandchildren: Breanna Hinton-Price (Kory), Brittany Hinton, Tyler Hinton, Titus Hinton, and Tramera Hinton-Horn, Great-Granddaughter: Lily Hinton, Siblings: Ruby Hinton and Helen Hinton and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents, wife Brenda, his daughter Tracy, and siblings,Vivian Burks and Ken Hinton.
