Charles Frederick Kennedy Sr., was born on August 23, 1950, and passed away on May 21, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, strength, and family. He was the beloved son of the late Major Kennedy Jr. and Edna Mae Mitchell Brown.

Charles was married to the late Glenda Gail Henderson, with whom he shared a devoted union and raised two cherished children: Charles Frederick Kennedy Jr. and Tangela Kennedy.

He was a proud grandfather to Kennedy, Christian, and Tristian Davis, and Benjamin J. Kennedy. His joy continued through his great-grandchildren: Justin Carlos Munoz Davis, Katrina Dodson, and Josiah Dodson. Charles deeply loved his family.

He is survived by his children: Charles Frederick Kennedy Jr. and Tangela Kennedy (Marlon Keith Hill). Siblings: Kenneth Kennedy (Bonita), Ricky Kennedy, Lydia Witcher, Ora Jean Kennedy Anderson, and Lola Kennedy, along with several stepbrothers and stepsisters. He was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Kennedy. Charles also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him with deep affection.

Charles graduated from C.B. Dansby Colored School and went on to pursue higher education in the field of oil and gas, studying geology. He served his country with honor in the United States Navy for eight years, attaining the rank of E-5 Petty Officer Second Class (PO2). Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service by working at the United States Postal Service.

A special acknowledgment and heartfelt thanks go to his nephew Patrick Williams, whose devoted care and steadfast support meant so much in Charles’s later years. His compassion and dedication will always be remembered by the family.

Charles’s presence, love for family, and the memories shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
