Charles Edward Brown was born on April 28, 1955, to the late Rosevelt and Velma Brown in Cherokee County, Texas. He attended Jacksonville schools and, following high school, proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Charles departed this life on October 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him dearly.
Throughout his life, Charles had a genuine love for automobiles and auto mechanics. He enjoyed cars in general and had an appreciation for how they worked. Whether working on a vehicle, talking about cars, or simply admiring one that caught his attention, automobiles remained one of his longtime interests.
More than anything, Charles loved his family. He was especially proud of his six grandchildren—Trinitee, Kynidee, Dorrian, Varrian, James, and Zander. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and he loved them dearly. Charles also had a personality that could fill a room. Known for being the life of the party, he enjoyed being around others, sharing laughter, and creating memories. His outgoing spirit allowed him to form many lasting friendships throughout his life.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Rosevelt and Velma Brown; his great-great-nephew, Michael Sherman Ross II; and the mother of his children, Teresa Kelly.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Ariel Brown (Toddrick) and Aaron Michael Brown; his bonus daughter, Alexis Kelly; his six beloved grandchildren, Trinitee, Kynidee, Dorrian, Varrian, James, and Zander; and his siblings, Glenda, Evelyn, Donald, Ronald, Carolyn, Rosevelt Jr., Brenda, Clarence, Kenneth, Karen Brown, and Regina Brooks (Todd). He is also lovingly remembered by 17 nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and great-nephews, 14 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, along with many longtime friends and extended family members whose lives he touched throughout the years.
For the last five and a half years of his life, Charles resided at Avir at Jacksonville Nursing Home, a place that became much more than a care facility to him—it became home. He grew to consider the residents and staff an extension of his own family.
The Brown family would like to express their immense gratitude to the nurses, aides, and entire staff of Avir at Jacksonville Nursing Home for the compassion, commitment, and care shown to their father, grandfather, brother, and uncle throughout those years. The kindness extended to Charles and his family will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
Although Charles’ presence will be greatly missed, his family will continue to cherish the laughter, stories, memories, and love he leaves behind. His love for his family—especially his grandchildren—and the many relationships he built throughout his life will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
